Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the actions taken by Crystal Palace Movers to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery is a severe violation of human rights and we are committed to ensuring that it has no place in our business or in the organisations with which we work.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Crystal Palace Movers is a removals and logistics business operating within the United Kingdom. Our activities include household and commercial removals, packing, storage, and associated support services. Our supply chains include transport and fleet services, storage facilities, equipment and packing materials, subcontracted labour, and various professional and maintenance services.
We understand that elements of our supply chain, particularly those involving temporary labour, subcontractors, and materials sourcing, may present a higher risk of modern slavery. We therefore aim to identify, assess, and mitigate these risks through robust policies, supplier due diligence, and continuous monitoring.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Crystal Palace Movers operates a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. This applies to our own operations and to all organisations within our supply chain. We expect our employees, subcontractors, and suppliers to uphold the same high standards and to act in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to labour and human rights.
Any breach or suspected breach of our modern slavery policy is treated as a serious matter that may result in immediate termination of contracts, reporting to relevant authorities, and internal disciplinary action where appropriate.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers and subcontractors who share our values and demonstrate respect for human rights. As part of our procurement and supplier management process, we:
Carry out due diligence on new suppliers, including assessing their labour practices and their own approach to modern slavery. Seek contractual assurances that suppliers comply with modern slavery and human trafficking legislation. Reserve the right to conduct audits or request evidence of compliance, such as policies, training records, and workforce documentation. Monitor ongoing relationships and review suppliers where concerns are identified or where higher risks are present.
Where suppliers are unable or unwilling to meet our expectations, we will seek to improve standards through engagement and, if necessary, reconsider the relationship.
Employee Awareness and Reporting Channels
Crystal Palace Movers encourages a culture in which concerns about unethical or unlawful practices can be raised without fear of retaliation. All employees are made aware that modern slavery is a serious criminal offence and are encouraged to report any concerns about potential exploitation or trafficking in our operations or supply chains.
Concerns can be reported internally to management or through established whistleblowing routes within the business. Reports may include observations about working conditions, recruitment practices, payment irregularities, or any behaviour that suggests coercion or exploitation. All concerns raised will be investigated promptly, thoroughly, and sensitively, and appropriate action will be taken.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility and that risks may change over time. Crystal Palace Movers is committed to reviewing and improving our approach on a regular basis. Each year we will:
Review this Modern Slavery Statement and update it where necessary. Assess the effectiveness of our policies, supplier audits, and reporting mechanisms. Consider any incidents, concerns, or external developments and incorporate lessons learned into our processes. Identify opportunities for further training, awareness, and engagement with staff and suppliers.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Crystal Palace Movers and represents our firm commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business. It will be reviewed and published annually.
